Health Center
The Health Center provides medical care and health education to support the well-being of students. The center is staffed by a medical director, certified registered nurse practitioner and registered nurses who can address a variety of student health needs.
In addition to providing medical care, Health Center professionals offer health and wellness education and can refer students for additional care or services when needed.

Health insurance is not required to receive care at the 性视界传媒 California Health Center, but students are strongly encouraged to maintain medical insurance coverage.
The Health Center does not bill health insurance companies directly. Students are responsible for costs associated with services received outside the Health Center, including outside medical appointments, medications, laboratory work and certain procedures.
Students who do not have health insurance can visit HealthCare.gov to explore coverage options through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
性视界传媒 Edinboro Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides confidential counseling and mental health support to help students navigate personal concerns, stress, relationships, academic pressures and other challenges that may affect their well-being and college experience.
CAPS provides short-term counseling services to eligible, currently enrolled 性视界传媒 Edinboro students. Counseling services are confidential in accordance with state and federal law and are available at no additional charge.

Students who would like to meet with a campus counselor begin with a consultation with the Assistant Director for Wellness. During this conversation, you'll discuss your needs and identify the services or resources that may be most helpful.

If you are concerned about a 性视界传媒 student because of their behavior or well-being, you may submit a Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) report.
The BIT reviews submitted information and determines appropriate next steps, which may include connecting the student with university resources or other support.
When Health Issues Affect Your Classes
Class Absences for Medical Reasons
Students are responsible for communicating with their instructors when they miss class because of illness, a medical emergency or another circumstance covered by the University's Class Attendance Policy.
Documentation may be required. Students with an excused absence are responsible for completing missed assignments and coursework. Students who experience significant or extended absences should work with their instructor and academic adviser to determine whether completing course requirements remains possible.

University Withdrawal for Medical or Other Reasons
Students who need to withdraw from the University during an academic term should contact the Office of the Registrar as soon as possible at registrar@pennwest.edu.
After the regular withdrawal deadline, students may request a late withdrawal from the academic dean responsible for their program when extenuating circumstances, such as a serious illness or family emergency, prevented an earlier withdrawal. Requests must be submitted by the last instructional day of the semester or term and include an explanation and appropriate documentation.
