What is TRIO?
programs are federally funded, college-opportunity programs that help eligible students prepare for and succeed in college. Through academic coaching, mentoring, and enrichment activities, TRIO helps students build confidence, strengthen study skills, and stay focused on their goals.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, TRIO serves more than 850,000 students nationwide, including:

TRIO Talent Search
TRIO Talent Search (TS) serves students in grades six through returning adults who reside in Clarion, Jefferson and Venango Counties. Participants receive guidance throughout high school and into college enrollment. Services include: study-skills instruction, college campus visits, SAT preparation, financial aid planning, college and career exploration, and leadership training.

TRIO Upward Bound
TRIO Upward Bound serves students in grades 9–12 through year‑round academic and enrichment activities. Students gain skills and experiences that support high school success and prepare them for college. Participants can apply during the spring of eighth grade.

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS)
TRIO Student Support Services helps students make steady progress through college. From the day you arrive on campus, SSS provides personalized support to help you meet your academic and career goals. Services include: one‑on‑one academic advising, peer mentoring, financial and economic literacy training, career and graduate school counseling, and courses and workshops that build community and confidence
